We rely on parent volunteers to coach each individual team, with guidance from Liberty Football Academy trainers. Please consider volunteering to participate when you register
Session and Schedule:
The Spring 2021 U6 season will run for 8 sessions on Saturday mornings beginning Sat 4/17/2021 from 10 AM to 11:15 AM (No session Memorial Day weekend)
THE U6 PROGRAM IS FOR CHILDREN BORN IN 2015 AND 2016
Practice & Scrimmage
Each session is scheduled for 75 minutes.
During the first 20 minutes, teams will warm up and conduct fun drills* focused on basic soccer skills. We will have trainers from Liberty Soccer at both sessions each week. They will work with each team to teach the drills, provide advice on skill building, and help with the flow of the day.
The next 10-15 minutes of the session, teams will play the first half of a mini-game against a neighboring team. No goalie is used and no score is kept. Utilize general out of bounds guidelines. Use your best judgment if you have uneven teams. All kids will play the entire time. Coaches should work with the players to utilize the skills practiced earlier that day.
The next 20 minutes will use another drill/activity to introduce and reinforce basic skills for the session. This will be followed by the second half (10-15 minutes) of the mini-game.
The session will finish with both teams participating in a penalty kick shoot-out, before concluding with a snack to be provided by a players family each week.
Equipment for the U6 program:
Each child must wear shin guards. Cleats/soccer shoes are optional. Players should bring a water bottle each week. A team shirt will be handed out the first week - these are free thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Balls will also be provided.
